Ice Pick Headaches
Ice pick headaches are brief, stabbing headaches that occur suddenly and without warning. The pain is intense but lasts only a few seconds, often striking in random locations on the head. Although alarming, ice pick headaches are usually harmless. If they become frequent or are accompanied by other symptoms, further evaluation may be necessary to rule out underlying conditions.
